Ali Zafer was born in 18 May 1980 into a Muslim family in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Ali Mohammad Zafer (birth name) is a Pakistani singer, musician, composer, song writer, painter and film actor. His parents were Mohammad Zaferullah and Kanwal Ameen, both professors at the University of Punjab, Pakistan. He got his early education from the C.C.A. public school and Beaconhouse School System where he topped his matriculation exams. He completed his graduation from the Government College Of Lahore and National College of Art in fine art.At the age of 8 Zafer made his 1st comic book. Early in his career, he worked as a scratch artist at Pearl Continental Hotel in Lahore.
He started his singing career with song Jugnoun Se Bhar Le Aanchal in the film Shararat. This film was directed by Pakistani actress & director Samina Peerzada but make a big mark with his first single Channo from his first album Huqa Pani that sold over five million copies worldwide. The album turned out to be one of the biggest hits ever in Pakistan with Channo topping the charts all the way for a long time. Zafer has won three Lux Style Awards, three Indus Music Awards, three MTV Style Awards and one Stardust Awards, In 2012. Zafer was awarded by Dadasaheb Phalke AcademyAwards in India.
In his music career, as a musician he made his debut with the album Huqa Pani, released in Pakistan in 2003 and worldwide in 2005. The album was super hit, selling over 600,000 copies worldwide and winning several major awards and nominations. It also put him into the league of the most popular artists. With time he proved to be perhaps one of the most verstile singer in the modern generation with a distinct vocal tone and qualities. Zafar surprised his audience during his folk and Sufi rendiition in the " Coke Studio " Pakistan. His new songs, namely " Allah Hu ", " Yar Dhadhi Ishq", " Nahin Ray Nahin" and " Daastan-e- Ishq " won the hearts of millions all over the world once again and earned him a new era of fan following. He won the award for " Best Album" category at the Lux Style Awards 2004 for his super hit album Huqa Pani and also the " Best Male Artist "at the 2008 MTV Awards. In addition to the album's popularity being reflected in the music stores and critics. It has been widely claimed that Himesh Chammiya copied one of the most well-known tracks from the album, Rangeen,for his song "Illagi Mein Jo". Soon Pritum too copied his track "Channo" as " Chori Ki Baatein" in the film Fight Club.Zafer launched his 2nd album" Masty "in November 2006, nationwide. Audience love it a lot. Zafer released his 3rd and long awaited video of the single , "Dekha" from his 2nd album. This album was the most expensive music video of Pakistan, costing more than ten million rupees. The video was shot in Malaysia, produced by Lux Company and had Pakistani actresses Reeme , Meera and Amina Huq. Zafer also won the " Youth Icon " award in the Lux Style Awrda 2007, in Malaysia. Besides being asinger, painter, model and actor, Zafer has also produced and directed his music video Ek Pal from his first album Huqa Pani. His song "Dekha" of his album "Masty" was part of the soundtrack of American film Wall Street:Money never Sleep. This film was released on 24 September 2010. Zafer is the fourth Pakistani artist after Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam to have their songs featured in an American film. Ali Zafer released his 3rd album on 14 Febrary. This album was much different from his earlier works consisting of Sufi semi classical rendition of folk and Sufi verses fuzed with modern instruments. It also included rendition from Cock Studio and Ghazals from Mirza Ghalib. Tracks such as the title track "Jhoom", " Jee Dhondta Hai", Koi Umeed" and "Jaan-e-Man" had a timeless feel to themThese tracks earned him further respect and popularity in the field of serious music listning.
Ali Zafer also became the first of sort to have rendered his services as an actor, singer, composer, lyricist, writer, arranger, programmer, recordist for his recent film "London, Paris, New York".Amongst the popular tracks from the album are the title track "London, Paris, New York, " Voh Dekhney Mein", Thehree Si Zindagi " and "Ting Rang". Now Zafer is working on the music of his next venture "Aman Ki Asha",as the music director. Also by the end of 2013, his fourth album releasing.
Ali Zafer starting his acting career on PTV. His drama saries are "Kanch Ke Per"and miniseries Kollege Jeans and etc. After becoming a musician, he got an offer for the role of Sarmed in "Khuda Kay Liye" a film by Shoaib Mansoor.The film was released in 2007 which he accepted, but he could not able to sign it because of some personal reasons. The role was than perfprmed by Fawad Afzal Khan.Ali zafer not only act in Pakistan but also in out of country. His debute movie on Bollywood movie named "Ter Bin Laden" directed by Abhishek Sharma which was a success both critically and commercially.This movie released on 16 July 2010 and was a major hit in India for a low budget movie. Censor board was not allowed to be released in Pakistan. He got nominated for IIFA Awards, Screen Award, Zee Cine Awardsof 2011in the 'Best Male Debute" category. He was also the first Pakistanito be called to Indian Film Festival at Australia in March 2011, for his movie screening. Ali Zafer's movies "Mere Brother Ki Dolhan"Directed & written by Ali Abbas Zafer And produced by Aditya Chopra,(the film also stars Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif) London, Pairis, New York(2012), Chashm-e-Baddor (2013) a romatic comedy film directed by David Dhawan. Ali is currently working in his upcomming Bollywood film "Aman Ki Aasha"

About Personal

Ali Zafer married his long-time fiancee Ayesha Fazil in an Islamic wedding cermony on 28 July 2009 in Lahore, Pakistan. Now he is a father of a baby boy, whom he named Azaan Zafer.

He walked the ramp at the 1st ever Lifestyle Pakistan Expo for designer brand ChenOne. A venture between the Pakistan and Indian Governments, Lifestyle Pakistan Expo is a foer-day event where hundred Pakistani fashion and lifestyle brand are exihibiting their collections at Pragati Maidan here. He hopes the initiative bridges the gap between the two countries.Ali Zafer was invited in 2013 Cannes Film Festival held at Cannes, France.
